All about the Mi 5

The latest flagship from Xiaomi takes to the market in three different versions. The most affordable model costs 1,999 CNY (about US$305) and brings 32 GB of internal storage and a 3D glass rear panel, but has a lower clock speed than the other two models, 1.8 GHz instead of 2.15 GHz.

Mi5 featuring FPC’s touch fingerprint sensor FPC1245. Already received as well as expected revenues in 2016 that relate to sales of FPC1245 for this smartphone model are included in FPC’s communicated revenue guidance of 7,000-8,500 MSEK for 2016.

The Mi 5 uses  the Might Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.15 Ghz (1.80 Ghz in one variant) quad core processor along with along with the adreno 530 GPU and it is backed up by a 3GB/4GB LPDDR4 RAM, It comes in 32GB, 64 GB or  128 GB variants. It is built on 64-bit architecture , when performing multi-tasking, the perfect combination of graphics and 64 high-speed computing, multi-tasking capabilities of the device, bring the device a new refined level.



The smartphone is equipped with Li-Pol (Lithium-Polymer) battery. 3000 mAh capacity allows to enjoy the phone for a long time even while intensive use. Qualcomm Quick Charge technology makes charging the smartphone far more effective. It can be half charged in only 25 minutes.


Available in black, white, and gold, the premium Mi5 version has a 3D ceramic back and is the first Xiaomi device to feature a front fingerprint sensor (as opposed to a back sensor) and a physical home button, along with a USB-type C charging port, similar to the Mi 4c. It also has a 16MP rear-facing camera, NFC, quick-charge 3.0, and supports 600Mbps 4G+.

The device is 7.25 mm thick, sports a 5.15-inch screen, and weighs in at 129 grams — you’ll also see from the photo that the bezel on the left and sides is very minimalist.
